A Family and a House
1,546 words

It is a bright new year for young couple who had found the perfect place to live, a house in a soft neighbor hood. The house they chosen is a soft baby blue with a white wood lining, and a dark blue roof tile. Adoring it as the pulled up the drive way. Then admiring its lovely color and how it suits there needs. They walk to the beautiful brown door and unlock it. A small wave of air comes out, pushing that new house smell out. Sniffing the air, they found that this house is going be hold more than it can tell.
The house is already fully stock. Showing no sigh of the movers' presence, they wondered how all their stuff got in here. Continuing to walk, they also noticed that everything was to there liking. The walls where all ready painted their special colors, the furniture already laid out, carpet covering the bare wooden floor, and boxes of photos cluttering the floor. "I guess we have to hang the photos are selves." Liz complained with a sigh, putting her hangs on her hips.
"Yes, we have to, but we'll do it together." Samuel pulled his new wife in for a hug. They both continued to admire the house they have chosen from the inside. "Well then, lets get to work!" Exclaimed Liz as she headed to one of the boxes on the floor.
Once done with the little task, the house looked finally completed. Both gave out a slight sigh since they finished there tricky task. "No wonder the photos weren't up. There a bit tricky to make them stay up there." Samuel said as he walked to the couch in the living room and sat on it, making the couch go 'woof' as he sat down.
Still admiring their handy work, Liz stood there looking at the wall then the photos that hang on it. Giving a slight sigh to show that she couldn't figure out why the photos wouldn't just hand there. She then placed the hammer from her hand and placed it in the toolbox next to her. She then sat next to Samuel, making the couch go 'woof.'
Now on the couch, Samuel quickly pulled her into his arms. She instantly gave out a joyful hum. Both began to observe their new home, as how all their stuff is already in it. Samuel let it leave his mind his mind so he can focus on other things, but Liz kept thinking about it. It intrigued her as she continued to think about it. "Well…lets go see if everything else is up stairs," Samuel asked in a cheerful tone.
"Might as well," Liz replied and was pulled up be him. She was easily pulled up and directed through the whole house till they reached the stairs to the second level. Both looked up to see what adventure might be with holding up those stairs. Samuel led and Liz followed, to their suspicions, the second floor  is like the first, all of the items are in  their correct place and all of their personal items are stowed away or hanging on the walls.
Amazed of what they see, both wonder how this could be. "Wow, this is really amazing. How much did we pay those movers again," Samuel asked his wife.
" I don't remember, honey." "Hu, we should think of recommending them to our friends, they did a great job," he said with a bright smile on his face and left Liz only speechless.
"Since we seen the whole house, lets see what the fridge holds." Samuel exclaimed with a grin on his face. "We might as well," Liz replied and walked with him to the kitchen.
A year has gone by since Samuel and Liz had moved in. They had finally had their child, a baby boy and it is the day they bring him home. As the roll onto the drive way with their car, the shutters on the windows shiver as it senses an additional presence. Slowly coming out of the car, Liz came out with Samuel's help. With the baby in her hands, she gently rocked him, though the baby boy kept his eyes open. "Oh, Samuel, can you please open the door?" "I will honey, just give me a sec," he said with a breathy voice.
As he opened the door, a swift rush of air came out, acting like a soft hand against the baby boy's head. Then Liz began to whisper to her little son, "Chris, this is your new home. And this is your daddy," pointing to Samuel who is bringing her luggage in and closed the door.  Giving out a tired sigh, he placed the suitcases near the stairs and then walked back to Liz. "Lets sit you down," he said as he guided her to the sofa. As always, the couch made a 'woof' sound as they sat down. "Oh, Samuel, he is finally falling asleep." "Oh, good, we should get some rest too," he said softly.
Once Chris was in deep sleep, Samuel began to lead Liz up the stairs toward the baby's room and theirs.
Months went by and it's finally Christmas and already Chris could walk and talk. Joy is in the house as it is the couples first Christmas to spend as a family. The house is also decorated with more Christmas decorations then you can count. They even bought a living tree for this special occasion. And even are decorating it right now.
"Our First Christmas as a family!" Liz shouted in the happiest tone she could ever reach. Little Chris is always playing like a baby should be with Liz watching his back. Samuel had the task of decorating the tree which was difficult since Liz Critiqued his every move. Finally done, he sighed with a tone that showed he is done. But there is something missing and curious as always, Liz finds it out. "Ah, honey, I think you forgot something," she then pointed to the top of the tree. "I knew I forgot something," he immediately palmed himself on the forehead gently to show his mistake.
He grabbed the star from it's box and thought, since he is doing this as a family, he should let Chris do it.
"Hey, I think we should let Chris put the star on the tree." Samuel asked Liz, "Lets do it."
With that Samuel headed straight toward his son, picking him up and whispered in his ear, "Want to help daddy put up a star?" All Chris did was pause, smiled and clapped with a happy giggle. They went up the latter and Samuel guided him how to do it and Chris did it exactly as he was showed, Liz cheering all the way. "Good job, now who wants Christmas dinner?" She cheered and all began to follow her to the kitchen. For what beholds is a great Christmas feast.
Years went by and Chris grew up to an age where he can move out. The house has aged too. The paint outside id flaking off, the white wood liner showing a glint of yellow, but the roof title is still in place. "Oh, Samuel, I can't believe our little boy is all grown up," she cried as she watched Chris put his things in his car.
"Don't worry, Liz, he will be back with us soon."
"I know," she continued to weep. Chris quickly went to her, "Mom, It's okay; I'll be back before you know it." Leaving his mother's hold, he began to walk to his car.
"Mom, I promise I'll call once I'm there." Raising his cell phone high, showing that he has it. "Okay then, be safe," Samuel yelled as he held Liz in his arms to comfort her. Chris revved up his car, leaving the house he grew up in and his family, but he will keep his promise.
Still in the front of the door as Chris left, Liz and Samuel went inside. Liz searching for something around the house, but her eyes went for Samuels. Hugging her once her eyes were on him, Samuel silently whispered, "Don't worry, he will be back and while were waiting, I knew there is a mystery you want to solve?"
With tear stung eyes, Liz smiled and looked in his eyes to see if he'll lead. And he did, straight to the couch, were they always sit, making a 'woof' sound as they sat. For once, the house gave out a small squeak in its frame as to let out a sigh.
More years have gone by. It is at the time where the couple had to move out, due to their old age. All of what is left in the house is there forgotten presence. The house is now showing major aging, holes in the roof, the frame moving in a hard breeze, the paint all nearly disintegrated.
This day, the wind has picked up, blowing branches all around. Once the wind reached it's peak, the house came crumbling down. The wind died, only showing of what is left of the house on its foundation. The special house is no more.
